The street
Red plastic stool
Red plastic stools are everywhere: sidewalk coffee stalls, noodle carts, snail restaurants, family memorials and weddings. They are so low your knees nearly reach your chin, yet people sit on them for hours without a complaint.
Every afternoon the owner carries out a towering stack and lines them up along the pavement. A glass of iced tea, a plate of sunflower seeds, and that is all you need to watch the street go by and talk about everything under the sun.
Do you remember? Which sidewalk stall do you remember most?
