School days

Comic book

A new volume every week, and the whole class waited for it like Tết. A few days of saved breakfast money bought one copy; you lent it to a friend, who lent it to someone else, and by the time it came back the corners were curled.

The comic rental shop down the alley was paradise: a few coins per book, read there or take it home. Get caught reading in class and the teacher kept it until the end of the year.

Do you remember? Which comic series were you first obsessed with?
