Four-button game console

The console plugged into the TV and a golden cartridge slotted into the top. If the picture did not come up, you pulled the cartridge out, blew into the contacts and tried again. Nobody knew if it really worked, but everybody did it.

Tank battles, a plumber jumping on mushrooms, two-player run-and-gun, and the “hundreds of games in one” cartridge that turned out to be the same few games over and over. Kids without a console paid by the hour at a shop, squeezed onto stools in front of a small TV.

Do you remember? Which four-button game did you play the most?
