Doraemon arrives in Vietnam

The first thin Doraemon volumes appeared at newsstands, and soon a whole generation knew Nobita, Shizuka, Gian and Suneo by heart. Every kid wished for the Anywhere Door, or memory bread before a test.

The books went around the classroom, rented from shops for a few coins and reread until the covers fell off. Plenty of grown-ups still keep a stack of those old volumes.
