Journey to the West every summer

Summer holidays meant Journey to the West on TV again. On blazing afternoons the family lay in hammocks watching the Monkey King fight demons, Pigsy stuff himself, and the monk get kidnapped yet again.

Nobody ever got tired of it, and everyone could hum the opening music. Kids snapped off branches for magic staffs, used face towels as golden headbands and acted it all out in the yard.
