Feather shuttlecock

You bought a shuttlecock at the school gate or made one: a few rubber washers stacked as the base, with a tuft of chicken or duck feathers on top. You kicked it with the inside of the foot, some with the heel or the top of the foot, passing it around a circle in the middle of the yard.

The true champions could keep it up alone for a hundred kicks without dropping it, while everyone counted aloud. The shuttlecock was forever landing on a roof, getting stuck in a tree or flying into the next classroom, and each time someone was sent to ask for it back.

Do you remember? What was your shuttlecock-kicking record back then?

A tuft of chicken feathers on a few rubber washers: kicked with the inside of the foot, passed around the yard, the longer it stays up the better.
