Radio cassette player

The boombox was the family's entertainment centre: the news in the morning, music at night, and cassettes turned up loud for Tết and family gatherings. The fancy ones had two tape decks so you could copy tapes for your friends.

Every week young people in Saigon waited for the radio music charts with a finger on the record button, ready to press it the second their favourite song started, praying the DJ would not talk over the intro.

Do you remember? Which radio show did you wait for every week?
