How to play: Chess
The chess set in the corner of the living room, where grandpa taught you how a knight moves.
Three levels against the computer; Hard thinks about two seconds a move and usually looks eight plies ahead.
Full rules: castling, en passant, promotion, checkmate, and draws by stalemate, fifty moves, threefold repetition or insufficient material.
Chess clock: pick a time control (3+2 means 3 minutes each plus 2 seconds after every move). Running out of time loses, unless the other side can't possibly checkmate.
“Play online”: open a public room (listed in the lobby) or a private one (link only), or hit “Play now”. The server keeps the real position and clocks, so nobody can cheat; draw offers, takebacks, rematches and spectators included.
Tap a piece then its square, or drag it. Left / right arrows step through the moves. “Hint” asks the computer for a good move.
