How to play: Line 98

Almost every computer in late-90s Vietnam had Line 98. A mouse and an afternoon skipping class was all it took.

  1. Click a ball, then click an empty square to move it. Balls only move along a clear path (up, down, left, right).
  2. Line up 5 or more balls of the same colour horizontally, vertically or diagonally to score: 5 balls are worth 10, each extra ball 4 more.
  3. Every turn you don't score, 3 new balls drop onto the small “seeds” on the board (colours shown on top). Move a ball onto a seed and the seed moves elsewhere.
  4. Score on several turns in a row for a streak bonus: +5 on the second, +10 on the third…
  5. Made a mistake? “Undo” takes back one move. When the board is full, the game is over.

Mouse/touch; keyboard: arrow keys to move, Enter to select, Esc to deselect, Ctrl+Z (or U) to undo.
